Harmonica Band
Harmonica Band
Background
Formed in 1986, the Yuhua Harmonica Band has grown into a close-knit family united by a shared passion for music. The Band’s mission is to promote musical diversity and appreciation through the expressive and versatile sounds of the harmonica.
Beyond nurturing members’ musical talents, the Band provides a platform for students to explore a wide range of genres — from classical and traditional pieces to contemporary pop hits — demonstrating the harmonica’s unique ability to bridge generations and styles.
The Band also plays a vital role in developing leadership, teamwork, and confidence among its members. Many students join with little or no prior musical background, yet through patient guidance and dedicated practice, they discover the joy of performing and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Today, the Band is proud to be led by Ms. He Hui Teng, a passionate alumnus who first discovered her love for harmonica music right here in Yuhua. Together with a team of committed teachers-in-charge, she continues to inspire and guide the Band towards new musical heights — true to our motto: “Unite as One, to Achieve and Excel."
